The U300 supports Matter over Thread, ensuring seamless interoperability across various smart home ecosystems.
1) Aqara Home Users: No hub is needed, but the Aqara M3 Hub is recommended for enhanced features like remote control and automations.
2) Matter Users: A Thread Border Router that supports Matter is required.
Binding to the Aqara M3 Hub allows for automations, remote lock/unlock, and more features in future updates.
Basic functions like locking and unlocking work with third-party ecosystems. However, we recommend using the Aqara Home app to access exclusive features and detailed settings such as passage mode, Night latch mode, and more.
1) Already bound: Generate the Matter Code from the bound ecosystem, then enter pairing mode and follow the guidance to bind to another ecosystem.
2) Not bound: Reset the device and try again.
A Thread Border Router that supports Matter is required.
1) Standard Mode: Open Apple Wallet, select the door card, and tap iPhone/Watch close to the NFC area to unlock.
2) Shortcut Mode: Set up in Apple Home, then unlock with Face ID or password and move the device close to the NFC area.
Follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve issues with the Aqara Smart Lock U300 and the Apple Home app:
1) Update Firmware: Ensure U300’s firmware is updated and follow the recommended reset and setup procedures.
2) After powering on the door lock, please press the lock's "Set" button, then use the Home app to scan the Matter QR code.
3) You also can create a new "Home": If you encounter errors like “Cannot add personal code” during the Passcodes step in the Apple Home app, create a new Home in the app.
4) Reset HomePod Mini: Reset a HomePod Mini and integrate it with the new Home to test the lock’s functionality. If successful, the issue may stem from the original Home configuration.
5) If the pairing times out, please try resetting the door lock, and delete the Smart Lock U300 in the system "Settings>Matter accessory" on your phone/tablet, then try rebinding the Apple Home app.
6) Migrate Home Setup: If problems persist, consider migrating to a new Home setup. Use the “Controller for HomeKit” app to back up and restore your HomeKit configuration, simplifying the process.
7) Personal Code Length: Ensure the personal code for the lock is between 4-10 characters to ensure compatibility with the Home app.
8) Thread Border Router Alert: If you receive a ‘Thread Border Router Required’ alert, refer to Apple’s support link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102078
9) Reset Door Lock: Refer to the electronic user manual for instructions on resetting the door lock.

The Aqara Smart Door Lock U300 supports up to 75 passwords at the same time, including ordinary and temporary periodic passwords. In addition, up to 8 sets of one-time passwords can be generated per hour.

Yes, a temporary one-time password can be generated through the Aqara Home app.
The Aqara Smart Door Lock U300 supports up to 50 fingerprints.
Install the Aqara Home app, after the lock is added and connected to the app, set the fingerprint according to app prompts. You can also press the set button and follow the voice prompts for local fingerprint setup.
If the Aqara Smart Door Lock U300 prompts an unsuccessful fingerprint entry, make sure that the finger used for the fingerprint is dry and the fingerprint is not damaged substantially. It takes seven times to collect a complete fingerprint. Please fully press the finger on the identification area and try to change the input angle according to the voice/Aqara Home app prompts (avoid repeated inputs at the same angle). For a better unlocking experience, it is recommended to enter the print of the thumb of the commonly used hand.
Please make sure the finger is not stained or wet, press the finger fully onto the identification area, and try again. If repeated failure results in fingerprint verification being locked out, use a password, delete the old fingerprint on the Aqara Home app, and set up a new one. Multiple groups of fingerprints can be set to avoid verification failure due to problems on a single finger.
The fingerprint module unlocks after identifying, comparing, and verifying the collected fingerprint pattern. The success rates of fingerprint unlocking are affected by an elder's serious fingerprint wear and children's shallow/incomplete fingerprint patterns. Password and NFC/HomeKey are recommended in such cases.
