As one of the first sensors to support Matter natively, the Door and Window Sensor P2 connects directly to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Aqara Home in the near future through the Matter-compatible Aqara Thread border router. This will build rich and varied smart home scenarios and can work entirely on your local network.

Matter Controller and Thread Border
Router Support: what is required?

To add the P2 to a particular Matter-enabled app, your device or devices will need to have both Matter controller and Thread border router functionalities. In case you are looking for a one-step solution or intend to upgrade the existing situation, there are several options for different cases:

In the future, you will be able to add Aqara Matter over Thread devices to Aqara Home and get additional functionalities and improvements such as longer battery life. In this case, Aqara Border Router such as Hub M3 will be required.

By installing the P2 on a first aid kit, medical professionals can monitor when it is opened, ensuring that it is used appropriately and restocked when necessary.

With its compact design and adhesive back, the sensor easily integrated into any interior. The upgraded stickers will not leave traces after being removed, and the additional flat magnet brings more installation flexibility.

Additionally, it is equipped with a powerful CR123A battery, it provides uninterrupted protection with infrequent battery changes.

The customizable settings through the Aqara Home app will be expanded with the launch of the Hub M3 in the near future.

IF Door and Window Sensor is opened

THEN Turn off the thermostat to reduce energy consumption and your carbon footprint

No more lights suddenly turning off while you are in the toilet

IF Door and Window Sensor P2 is opened
(i.e. the toilet cover was opened, which indicates that the toilet is used)

THEN Deactivate the automation “Turn off the light if no motion was detected for 2 minutes”
